Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is an all-India standardized computer-based test for admission to various technical undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across India.
The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) comprises of three papers. Paper1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs (B.E/B. Tech). Paper 2A is conducted for admission to B. Arch and Paper 2B for admission to B. Planning courses in the country. As per the revised exam pattern, NTA conducts separate papers for B.Arch and B.Planning aspirants.
The exam is conducted in four sessions from February - May every year. Hence, candidates get multiple chances to enhance their percentile scores. For the purpose of preparing the Merit List/Ranking, the student's best of the NTA scores is taken into account.
NOTE: * 20 questions will be MCQs and students can choose to attempt 5 questions out of 10 given questions which will have answers to be filled as a numerical value out of 10.

1.UNIT-1: Awareness of persons. Buildings, Materials. Objects, Texture related to Architecture and Build-environment, Visualizing three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings. Visualizing. Different sides of three-dimensional objects. Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual. Numerical and Verbal)
2. UNIT –2 Three dimensional- perception: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportions of objects, building forms and elements, color texture harmony and contrast Design and drawing of geometrical or abstract shapes and patterns in pencil. Transformation of forms both 2D and 3D union, subtraction rotation, development of surfaces and volumes, Generation of Plan, elevations and 3D views of objects, Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shapes and forms.
Part-III Planning –
1.UNIT-1: General knowledge questions and knowledge about prominent cities, development issues, government programs, etc.
2.UNIT-2: The idea of nationalism, nationalism in India, pre-modern world, 19th -century global economy, colonialism, and colonial cities, industrialization, resources and development, types of resources, agriculture, water, mineral resources, industries, national economy; Human Settlements Power-sharing, federalism, political parties, democracy, the constitution of India Economic development- economic sectors, globalization, the concept of development, poverty; Population structure, social exclusion, and inequality, urbanization, rural development, colonial cities.
3.UNIT-3: Comprehension (unseen passage); map reading skills, scale, distance, direction, area, etc.; critical reasoning; understanding of charts, graphs, and tables; basic concepts of statistics and quantitative reasoning.
